Bloody Buccaneers is a Golden Earring tribute band, named for that band's 1991 album, which featured the international hit "Going To The Run". The 'Buccaneers' have played almost 200 times in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, where the band is very popular and has become a welcomed guest at many tribute festivals. In July 2015 the band drew over 9.000 people totheir special two and a halfhour Kasteeltuinconcert at Helmond.
In 2013, Bloody Buccaneers were invited to 'Rock Meets Harmony Kerkrade'. Collaborating with a brass section, the band performed excellent versions of some Earring classics and finished with a outstanding version of "Radar Love", played together with the complete Harmony Orchestra –a performance which was rewarded with a standing ovation from the audience.
A while ago, Bloody Buccaneers was a highlighted guest on Radio Ridderkerk for an hour-long music special. In spring 2015, they performed on the immensely popular radio program, 'Parkroad Café', from the rock-temple 'De Boerderij' in Zoetermeer –following in the footsteps of previous guests such as Jan Akkerman (Focus, Brainbox), Eelco Gelling (Cuby + Blizzards), Dany Lademacher (Herman Brood) Robert-Jan Stips (Nits) and Thijs Van Leer (Focus).
On social media, Bloody Buccaneers is extremely popular and has way over 1,500 Facebook friends. One of the biggest Buccaneers' fans is Pinkpopboss, Mr. Jan Smeets, who promoted the band on National Radio and also invited them to perform at his 'Carna Jubilee' party.
Not surprisingly, Bloody Buccaneers perform all the big Golden Earring hits, such as "Twilight Zone", "When The Lady Smiles" and, of course, the million-seller "Radar Love". But their playlist also includes such live classics as "Holy Holy Life", "Back Home", "Buddy Joe", "Long Blond Animal", "Just Like Vince Taylor" and "Candy's Going Bad". To the surprise of even the most die-hard Earring fans, the band also selects some less obvious album tracks like "Mad Love Is Coming", Mission Impossible" and "The Vanilla Queen"
Also Bloody Buccaneers is active at Facebook with pictures, reports, reviews, and some (live)tracks at Soundcloud.
